Project Two
Digital Promotional Bundle
Annapolis, Maryland
The Digital Promotional Bundle was by far my favorite project that we completed throughout this course. I loved the level of creativity that this project required, as well as the importance of brand identity. When it comes to creating electronic mediums and writing, I have always enjoyed the parts that allow me to think outside the box. This project did just that. It was hands-on and collaborative. I even had the option to take the project my own way, and create artifacts that were specific to my product.

Personally, the most challenging part of this project was explaining what my product was while also advertising it in the most minimalistic way possible. Since my product was not something that was easy to guess right away, it took some explaining to show what my product does and how it works. I also knew that I didn't want the functionality of the product to get in the way of my advertising, so this was a constant issue I had when creating my contrasting artifacts.

My favorite part of this project was not only the ability to be creative, but also to possess contrasting narratives in the different mediums we used. For example, the way I wrote my publication for the high fashion magazine was nothing like the way I structured my Instagram page. The writing in my instructions manual was in no way similar to the writing found in the email chain between the unhappy customer and the service employee. Each artifact required a very distinct type of writing and I enjoyed having the ability to practice each one. I feel as though this project is beneficial to every person that wants to major in writing or a major similar to that. Whether a lot of people liked this project or not, I feel as though the artifacts made it more helpful in identifying and reflecting on one's strengths and weaknesses in the writing field.

From this project, I know what I need to improve upon for future writing, as well as what types of writing I find more enjoyable than others. I feel more confident in identifying and targeting audiences through diction and brand identity. Above everything, I loved having the ability to create different logos and create artifacts that looked like they belong in reality. It was rewarding to see that the work I put in could become a possible business pitch - of course if technological advancements could keep up.
