Today's spot is definitely something to be excited about!

Throughout Annapolis, there are many places tourists and visitors can go to take in the the beautiful views that the Chesapeake Bay has to offer. Unsurprisingly, many tourists and new visitors have no idea where to look for the perfect spots to sit down and soak up the sun. With my help, I can provide all of you with these perfect vacation spots. These locations include the secluded beaches, lakes, and creeks throughout Annapolis and the Chesapeake Bay. We will start with my personal favorite spot - Lake Ogleton (Bay Ridge).

tubing in Lake Ogleton

Lake Ogleton is the lake surrounded by the community, Bay Ridge. On hot summer days, you are most likely to find many Bay Ridge residents boating, sailing, and swimming in this lake. It is known for its beautiful sunsets. Residents who live over the lake will occasionally sit on their piers and enjoy the view as the sun goes down. Most popularly, visitors and residents will go tubing in the lake, as it is shaped perfectly for water sports like waterskiing, wake boarding, extreme tubing and other fun water activities. On long weekends and in good weather, raft ups are very popular among both family boaters and teenagers. Since Lake Ogleton is my favorite spot to enjoy my summers, I am regularly rafting up with my friends from June to August.

Along with Lake Ogleton, my second favorite spot is Highland Beach. Highland Beach is also apart of the Bay Ridge Community. This spot is known for being one of the best beaches in Annapolis, yet many tourists do not hear about it while visiting since its around 15 minutes from Downtown Annapolis. I would definitely recommend driving through this area (if you don't have the time to stop) because a large cliff and a singular winding road overlooks the beaches for a few miles. If you do plan to stop by Highland Beach, parking - although free - can be near impossible on nice days. Be prepared to walk a little ways in the heat and your flip flops!

PRO TIP: When visiting, be sure to get out on a boat! Of all the beautiful places in Annapolis, most of them can only be reached by water (and sadly, swimming isn't much of an option due to how big the Chesapeake is). From past experiences, when my friends are visiting me, they tend to have much more fun when I can take them on the water and drive to Downtown and Ego Alley by boat.
